DIY Nail Polish Kit from Handmade Beauty Box.DIFFICULTY: BEGINNER

Your Handmade Beauty Box Includes:
4 oz Suspending Nail Polish Base
8 Nail Polish Bottles, Brushes, and Caps
0.2 oz Cellini Blue Mica
0.2 oz Cellini Red Mica
0.2 oz Super Pearly White Mica
0.2 oz Fired Up Fuchsia Pigment
0.2 oz Silver Nail Polish Glitter
Mini Scoops
Mixing Balls
Mini Funnels

What you’ll need from home:
Old Wash Cloth / Rag
Paper Towels
Gloves (optional)

Please note that nail polish is flammable and should never be customized near any open flame or extremely hot heat source (like your stove).

ONE: In a well-ventilated space, pour the nail polish base slowly into the nail polish bottles. Fill until just below the shoulder to allow for mixing room. If you spill, use an old rag to wipe the neck of the bottle before it dries. If you forget to do this your lid may “glue” itself to the bottle. If this happens, just use an old spoon and nestle the spoon in the crack between the lid and the neck, push up and back to loosen.

Tip #1: The funnels do not work to fill the polish bottles; it’s too thick.

Tip #2: Make sure that the nail polish base is at room temperature as cold base will be thicker and more difficult to pour. We recommend wrapping the base in a warm towel to warm it up if it seems too thick for pouring.

Tip #3: The first nail polish bottle will be the most difficult to fill. Trust us when we say pour slowly. You may even let the base drizzle onto the lip/shoulder of the nail polish base bottle to get a smaller pouring stream.

Pouring Nail Polish BaseTWO: Drop 1 or 2 mixing balls into each nail polish bottle. Some prefer 2 mixing balls. Some prefer 1 mixing ball. Either option will mix the base well.

THREE: Using a mini scoop and mini funnel, add 10-12 scoops of colorant to each nail polish bottle. Use the back end of the mini scoop to push the colorant through the mini funnel.
Hint: You do not have to use the mini funnel, but it can help avoid glitter spills.

Pouring Techniques

Add colorant by using a mini scoop, mini funnel or a piece of paper. Whichever technique is easiest for you!

FOUR: Insert the brushes into the bottles then twist the black cap onto the nail polish bottle until you hear a “click.” Once the cap is securely on the bottle, start shaking to mix. Shake the bottle for 2-3 minutes to fully disperse the colorant into the nail polish base. This is a great arm workout!

FIVE: When the colorant has been fully dispersed, test the colorant on a piece of white paper or your nail and color correct if needed. Add the decorative rectangle cap to the inner cap and you’re finished. All that’s left to do is cut out the labels, peel off the back, and label your custom nail polish blends.
