DIFFICULTY: BEGINNER
TIME: 20 MINUTES
YIELDS: 4 CANDLES

Handmade Beauty Box Includes
4 Candle Containers
1 lb EcoSoya Advanced Candle Wax
4 Wicks
1 oz Vanilla Bean Fragrance Oil
1 oz Orange Blossom Fragrance Oil
2 Droppers
Labels (located at the bottom of the box)

What You’ll Need from Home
Medium heat safe container (preferably with a spout)
Hot pad or oven mitt
8 Pencils, pens, or clothes pins
Foil (optional project)
Matches or a lighter

ONE: Melt all of the EcoSoya wax in the microwave in a medium heat-safe bowl. Make sure to melt it in 30-second bursts, stirring in between with a spoon, until fully melted. Depending on your microwave strength, it may take up to 1 1⁄2 minutes. Normally, we recommend a double boiler for wax melting but this particular wax has a higher melting point so it’s okay for the microwave. Please do not overheat the wax as it could turn yellow (not pleasant).

TWO: Add 1 oz of fragrance oil to the melted wax and stir with a spoon for a minimum of one minute. It’s important that the fragrance oil is fully mixed with the wax. If not fully mixed, the fragrance oil could potentially pool at the bottom of the wick causing a little “flare-up” when the candle is burning.

June's candle box comes with to fragrance options: Vanilla Bean Fragrance Oil & Orange Blossom Fragrance Oil.

TIP: For a strongly scented candle, the usage rate is 1 ounce of Fragrance Oil per 1 pound of Candle Wax.

THREE: Dip the metal bottom of the wick into the melted wax and center it in the bottom of the candle container. Stabilize the wick using two clothes pins, pencils, chopsticks, dowels, or pens (whatever you can find in your kitchen). Repeat this step with the remaining three candle containers.

FOUR: Gently and slowly pour the candle wax into each container leaving about 1⁄4 inch at the top. Let cool for 12-24 hours. Before burning, trim the wick down to about 1⁄2 inch in height.

DIY candling making is easy with Handmade Beauty Box.

FIVE: Light your candles and enjoy 8-10 hours of a relaxing ambiance. Remember, never leave a burning candle unattended!
